Question: Is it an OSHA violation to allow pet owners to be in a room when their pet is receiving any type of service e.g. vaccines?
There is no OSHA provision that prevents you from allowing pet owners to be in the room. OSHA deals with employee safety matters and does not dictate how you do clinical procedures beyond ensuring they're done in a safe manner for the employees. In this case, having the pet owner in the room during routine services like vaccinations may actually create a safer environment for the employee which is the spirit of the OSHA rules.
